Shorter visits

The scalp check

A look and a talk, before anything touches your hair.

Your therapist looks at your scalp and hair in good light, asks about your hair, your products and anything you'd like us to avoid, and suggests a length. It is a look, not a diagnosis, and if we see something we think a doctor should see, we say so plainly.

  • Twenty minutes, on its own or at the start of a session

  • Your questions, allergies and medicines

  • A length we suggest, and why

A wooden tray with a small glass bowl, three glass droppers and a wooden scalp brush on a folded towel

Questions about this

Do I need the scalp check before a session?

No. It is already the first step of every session. The 20-minute visit is for clients who want a look first.

Will you tell me what's wrong with my scalp?

We tell you what we see and what we'd suggest. We don't diagnose, and a skin or scalp condition belongs with a doctor.

Can I book a session the same day?

Yes, if there is room. Ask when you book whether the check counts toward the session.
